Hobbies: Bicycling, Gardening, Golf

Interest: Volunteering for local organizations

Favorite beach: My favorite beach is located along the northeast coast of Moorea in French Polynesia.

Best travel memory: My best travel memory was going with my wife and our daughters with other relatives to Walt Disney World.

Bucket list trip: On the bucket list is a expedition cruise to Antartica which will complete a goal of traveling to the Seven Continents in the World.

Destination worth another trip: I really have a strong desire to return to Tuscany for a longer stay outside of the Village of San Gimignano.

Specialist in Incentive Corporate and Group Travel. Expert in creating unique and complicated FIT itineraries designed specifically around the client.

Favorite cuisine: French

Astrological Sign: Sagittarius

Hobbies & Interests: Traveling, biking, cooking, tailgating at University of Iowa football games

Favorite Beaches: Moorea in French Polynesia, and Grace Bay in the Turks and Caicos.

Describe your best foodie experience abroad: I’ve been in the travel industry for many years, so there have been lots of them! Recently, while out snorkeling in the Turks and Caicos, the leader of the group dove to the bottom of the reef and emerged with a live conch shell. When we got to the beach he showed us how to get the meat out of the shell, and, back on the boat he created an amazing fresh conch ceviche. It was served with a bag of Doritos, and what else, rum punch – as well as sun and the turquoise sea - and was an unforgettable eating experience!

Bucket List Trips: South Africa and Vietnam

Destinations Worth Another Trip: The French Riviera – there are always more charming towns to discover. Two of my favorites are Mougins and St. Paul de Vence, and I know there are many more waiting to be explored. Also, Paris – I never get tired of strolling among the booksellers that line the Seine, or getting lost on the narrow streets in the Latin Quarter. The grand boulevards and spectacular hotels in Paris are worth many return trips. And, I can’t forget Barcelona – a city with the Mediterranean, great art (Gaudi and Picasso for starters), incredible food, and a vibrancy that goes 24 hours a day.

Best travel memory: So many, and I especially treasure the wonderful memories of trips over the years with Gregg and our two daughters. Recently Gregg and I traveled with friends to Peru and Machu Picchu. We included visits to Lake Titicaca and a plane ride to experience the Nazca Lines. It was an exciting, wonderful adventure.

Favorite Cuisine: Mediterranean

Astrological Sign: Aries

Favorite Trips to Book: Deluxe Cruises & Tours

Hobbies & Interests: Traveling with Friends, Cooking on the Weekends, Reading when I have time, and my IPad

Best Sail Experience Abroad: I really enjoy sailing the Queens (Cunard Line) Trans Atlantic from England to New York. This Sail gave you 25 hours every day, for you gain 1 hour daily!! Very British and great fun with lots of interesting people onboard!

Best Travel Memory: Several years ago Bob & I escorted a group on a One Plane Adventure of 22 Days Around the World. Gregg was a teenager and he came with us. We had the most exciting itinerary thru Africa, Middle East, India, Nepal, South Pacific & Asia. A couple of the Highlights included lunch with Sir Edmund Hillary, and a wedding in Sri Lanka by a couple onboard. They had Elephants and Kandy Dancers etc. included. I have many memories, stories, and pictures of this unbelievable trip!

Best Tour Experience: Traveling with Micato Safaris in East Africa is one of the greatest Travel/Tour experiences available today. To see the great animals of the world in their natural habitat, with very experienced driver guides, was always at the top of my Bucket List. I have had the pleasure of doing this trip several times!

Dream Vacation I have done: In 1997 we had 50 clients on the Concorde New York to London. We spent a week in London which also included a Day Trip via Eurostar to Paris, a little over two hours each way. We returned to the USA via the QE 2 from Southampton, England. What a wonderful trip this was! Unfortunately the Concorde is no more!

4 words describing me: Smiley, Feisty, Nice, Friendly

Favorite cuisine: Fusion!

Astrological sign: Sagittarius

Travel niche or favorite trips to book: Honeymoons and Destination weddings, Corporate, Groups & Incentives, Multi-generational trips

Hobbies & Interests: Reading, Bikings, Photography, Graphic Design, Enjoying Life

Name and describe your favorite beach: On the island of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands the sand is so white and the water is so blue! There are little beaches everywhere and this lagoon is one to visit!

Describe your best sail experience abroad: Avalon Waterways, which specializes in river boat cruising, offered a real intimate experience with lots of local appeal. I had the opportunity to start my trip in Paris and cruise through the South of France to the French Riviera. It was a great experience visiting the smaller villages to the bigger cities which helped to really indulge in French culture.

Next on your radar: My honeymoon to Fiji! I am looking forward to the beaches and learning about this lovely destination. Australia and New Zealand have been on the bucket list for quite some time. I am sure to visit those two spots soon.

Describe your best tour experience: While touring in Rome we had arranged a private guided tour with a driver. They took us all over the city and provided us with the superb service and exceptional attention we needed! This is definitely the way to sightsee.

Diana Weishaar, Agency Sales Manager & Travel Advisor - West Des Moines

Hometown: Fairfield, IA

4 words describing me: Outgoing, colorful, determined, humorous

Favorite cuisine: I'm up for anything, but sometimes nothing beats a good steak!

Astrological Sign: Leo

Travel niche or favorite trips to book: Honeymoons! Customized itineraries through Europe are also very fun to plan.

Hobbies & Interests: Music (listening and playing), watching movies, crafty projects, wine & food tasting

Name and describe your favorite beach: One of my favorite beaches is at Sandals Emerald Bay in Great Exuma. This island is still somewhat untouched by commercialism, and the beach has a remote feeling to it. The sand is incredibly soft, like flour, and the tall grasses along the edge of the beach give a calm, relaxing feeling as they sway in the Caribbean breeze.

Describe your best foodie experience abroad: First, I have to mention a domestic travel foodie experience – Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. I got to try a pork tenderloin dish with a molasses rub that absolutely melted-in-your-mouth! On an international level, I love the rodizios in Brazil. Rodizios are the Brazilian barbecue restaurants where they cook the meat rotisserie-style, bring it to your table, and slice off a slab of whatever you choose. Absolutely delicious!

What other destinations are on your bucket list/next on your radar: I would really like to visit Portugal. Having studied abroad twice in Brazil, I’m very interested in the culture, and I would love to experience some of the luxurious hotels I’ve seen in photos. I haven’t been to Europe yet, so it is definitely next on my list.

Dream vacations: This is the “If I had a million dollars” question! I think a dream vacation would be visiting the Maldives or Phuket – however that would be for the beach! I also think exploring Egypt would be a dream vacation. It would be amazing to see where it all started!

Best sail experience abroad: Beautiful and inspirational Greek Isles. The whole cruise was like a dream. Istanbul was surprisingly friendly and impressive. The biblical ruins of Ephesus was amazing! The sea side villages are truly picturesque. A Wonderful cruise!

Best travel memory: Family time in Spain. We stayed in a castle, a unique experience we enjoyed. Then traveled by rail to visit other parts of the country. My son knows Spanish well, but if there was a language problem, the Spaniards would quickly ask in English, than go back to Spanish.

Destination on your radar: Next cruise U.S. Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos

Dream vacation: White water rafting, rain forest Spa & Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica with my Husband. It was like a second honeymoon.

Nancy Nora, Group Travel Assistant

Hometown: Waterloo, IA now, Huntington, WV way back when

4 words describing me: curious, organized, loyal, chatty

Favorite cuisine: I like it all! I have yet to travel somewhere that couldn’t offer delicious food. OK, I did turn down cockroaches in Thailand, but the yummy noodle dishes made up for it.

Astrological sign: Aquarius

Travel niche or favorite trips to book: European cities, anything that includes history and art

Hobbies & Interests: travel, history, reading, family

Best foodie experience abroad: My husband and I made a spur of the moment decision years ago in Paris – we wandered into the opulent Hotel Meurice on Rue de Rivoli and stayed for their 5 course dinner. The incredible food and service were beyond description. The décor in the restaurant was fit for royalty (and I’m sure many royals have probably dined at this historic hotel).

Best travel memory: I was inspired to love travel because of a cross country trip in a station wagon pulling an Airstream trailer with Mom, Dad and 3 siblings in 1972. We went everywhere from St. Louis to the Grand Canyon to Ensenada, Mexico. Then up to Vancouver, via San Francisco and the Oregon dunes, and back home through Banff, Glacier National Park and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Six weeks of incredible sights and experiences.

Destination on your radar: China - because my son is a graduate student there. He is in Nanjing, which doesn’t seem to be on anybody’s tour itinerary, so it will be a real adventure.

Dream vacations: India – I have always been intrigued by the history and culture of India.

Describe your best foodie experience abroad:  Medieval castle banquet in Ireland where we had to eat our meal like they did back in medieval time. All of the servers & entertainers were dressed in clothing from that period.

Best travel memory:  Family trip to Ireland. Ireland was a country that appeal to all of us, we were able to find family names and coat of arms. Saw sheep dogs herding sheep, ruins of castles, walked the streets of Waterford and other small villages.

Name and describe your favorite beach: Negril’s Seven-Mile Beach in Jamaica! The sunsets are to die for and the people and food are incredible! A little farther from home however: Tonsai Beach in Thailand. Bungalows, fresh fruit, monkeys, sun, cold beer, rock climbing. The Krabi area of Thailand is a tropical beach lover’s dream come true.

Best Foodie Experience Abroad: Korean Barbeque in Mokpo, Korea. We used to get a big piece of marinated steak cut up in front of us and then grilled at our table, and served with fresh garlic, spring onions, red pepper paste and soy powder. This might sound unconventional, but I promise you it’s melt-in-your-mouth good.

Hobbies & Interests: Travel, cooking, drinking wine, gardening and staying in touch with old friends make my world go ‘round.

Destination on your radar: Patagonia Glacier National Park in Argentina. Among others... :)
